AIA Athens Airport Extension
The Athens International Airport Extension delivers a major expansion of terminal, operational, and support facilities organised across multiple wings and unified by a central passenger circulation spine. The project forms part of the airport’s long-term growth strategy, responding to increasing passenger demand while enhancing operational efficiency, connectivity, and future adaptability.

Architectural Scope
Architectural design development and technical coordination of the airport extension's building envelope during RIBA Stage 4. The work focused on translating design intent into coordinated construction information, addressing façade systems, structural interfaces and operational requirements within an active international airport.
Envelope & Interfaces
Detailed coordination of façade-to-structure connections, envelope-to-MEP interfaces and transitions between new and existing terminal buildings. Particular attention was given to buildability, structural tolerances, material performance and the integration of specialist building systems.
Technical Delivery
Leading envelope package coordination through multidisciplinary reviews, Revit modelling and technical drawing production. Architectural details, sections and construction information were developed in collaboration with structural engineers, building services consultants and specialist design teams.
Design Approach
Resolving complex technical interfaces while maintaining the architectural coherence of the wider terminal design. Decisions balanced performance, construction feasibility and the operational demands of a large-scale aviation environment.
