Architectural Scope

Architectural technical development and construction-stage coordination for the BBC Media Centre at Stratford Waterfront, part of London's wider East Bank cultural development. The work focused on translating architectural design intent into coordinated construction information, addressing complex building interfaces, technical requirements and detailed package resolution during RIBA Stage 5.

Building Envelope & Interfaces

Detailed architectural coordination involved the resolution of interfaces between building envelope systems, structural elements and associated building services. Particular attention was given to material transitions, junction detailing and the integration of architectural components, ensuring continuity between design documentation, technical performance and construction requirements.

Specialist Environments

The building brings together specialist facilities for music production, recording, rehearsal and broadcasting. These highly serviced environments require careful integration of architectural systems with acoustic, structural and building services requirements. The technical coordination process sought to reconcile specialist performance criteria with spatial quality, accessibility and long-term operational functionality.

Construction & Delivery

Working within a complex multidisciplinary project environment, the architectural delivery process required detailed package development, consultant coordination and the resolution of construction-stage interfaces. The emphasis was on maintaining design integrity, technical consistency and buildability throughout project delivery.
